To put it lightly, I am a bit of a shoe addict. Although I live in classic white trainers most of the time, I have quite the collection of shoes, that I love to pull out every now and again. And when it comes to autumn, I love bring out a whole range of footwear. So in this post, I wanted to share with you five transitional shoes for autumn, that you definitely need in your wardrobe this season. I have included a bit of everything in this post from super casual to super dressy, so hopefully there is something for everyone here.
Let’s get the staple out of the way because we all knew it would be on this list. I love a good white trainer. I have no idea how someone could not have these in their collection. Any season, any weather, any outfit and these are the shoes that will never fail. These had to make it on my shoes for autumn list because they are so versatile and when I don’t want to wear boots, these are what I go for. Perfect with jeans, trousers, skirts or anything really.
The ones in this photo in particular are from Puma, I’m sure they will still be avaliable now so I’ll link them here. They come in a range of colour ways, but you can’t go wrong with plain white. I would recommend these white trainers because they are so versatile. Not too chunky that they are overwhelmingly big but are still super sturdy and comfortable to wear.
PLATFORM SLIP ONS
When I’m going for smart casual vibes that are still super comfortable, these are my go to shoes. I mainly wear these for work because we aren’t allowed trainers but these are just as comfortable, whilst still being smart. These look so great with trousers and I love the platform on them. The platform makes them so great for the colder months because they are a little thicker and so they are much sturdier than other pumps on the market.
I’m not usually one to wear black pumps, as you can guess, I usually go for white ones, but I actually love these and find them so easy to style. I got these from Primark, way back when, so they were super cheap but they have lasted me ages. They definitely had to be on my autumn shoes list and I think everyone should have a shoe like this for all year around really.
KNEE HIGH BOOTS
If you are following me on Instagram, you will know my obsession with these shoes. Knee high boots have been super trendy over the last few years and I have a brown pair, but I’ve been on the hunt for a white pair for a while now and I finally got my hands on them. To me, these are the perfect shoes for autumn to add a fun detail to any outfit. With jeans and an oversized tee for a casual vibe or with a leather skirt and crop top for an evening look. I just think you can do so much with these.
I got my pair off of eBay second hand, but they are originally from Public Desire, so I will link them here for anyone interested. They also come in so many other colours but I just think that the white is such a fun statement and goes with anything. I can’t wait to style these up for autumn with chunky knits and big coats.
CHUNKY BLACK BOOTS
This, I would say, is such a classic shoe for me during this time of year. I lived in these when I was in sixth form because they are so comfy but can be worn in so many ways. I think that goes for most boots but because these are chunky and give you a little extra height, you can really dress them up or down. I would love to style these with wide leg jeans and a jumper for casual and then a little mini dress for the evening, super easy. The faux leather as well just makes them so durable and perfect for the type of weather we get in autumn.
These, in the photo, are from H&M a few years back but they come out with them every year so I’ll leave their latest ones linked here. But I think everyone can agree that a good ankle boot is definitely a staple shoe for the colder months.
CLOSED TOE HEELS
Finally, for a more dressed up occasion, closed toe heels. I’m not a massive heel wearer, only when I know I’m not doing a lot of walking but still want to look glam. But can’t go wrong with a pair in your collection right? Anyway, these would be my recommendation for autumn because they are slightly warmer than an open toe heel. And I just think that they look much better in autumn. Plus this red colour is just so perfect for the autumn season, especially when going into the Christmas party season.
The ones I own, in these photos are from Christian Louboutin and I got them as a gift. But they were from an auction so I’m not sure if these exact ones are sold anymore. However, there would be great alternatives out there. I would definitely recommend the red shade for these shoes though as I just think that it is a little different to black but still so wearable.
I do hope that you liked this post. I’m definitely going to try and write more fashion content like this in the future so do let me know any suggestions in the comment!
Lots of love,
